Frequently Asked Questions
What is Friends of BNSF?
Friends of BNSF is a way for people who are interested in BNSF Railway Company to show their support and gain access to exclusive content offerings about our railroad. You'll find information about our company's people, operations, role in the economy and history. Much of the content posted here will not be available on our main website http://www.bnsf.com or anywhere else.
What can I do on the site?
The website will be updated on an ongoing basis with new articles, photos and videos including current news about the company and fascinating materials from our historic archives. You can set up email alerts or subscribe to an RSS feed to keep track of updates to the site. There's also a collection of free downloadables for your enjoyment: wallpaper, ring tones and a PC screensaver. We will be adding to the site's content and features over time.
Who should join?
This website is meant for several groups of people: residents of communities where we operate, community and business leaders, retirees of BNSF or its predecessor companies, current employees and their family members, railfans, and freight rail advocates. Anyone who has an interest in BNSF Railway, who wants to know more about the importance of freight rail transportation, or who just loves trains is welcome to join.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing! Membership in Friends of BNSF is free.
What personal information do you want from me and what will you do with it?
If you choose to register, we will ask you for your contact information. Your email address and zip code are required so that we know in which area you live and how to contact you if needed. BNSF would like to be able to contact you from time to time to inform you of ongoing issues that are important to the rail industry and this nation's economy and infrastructure. By joining Friends of BNSF, you agree to let us do that. You can choose to end your membership at any time and we will remove your contact information from our database.
BNSF will not share your personal information with anyone outside the company without your permission.
